Cleveland Dart Extravaganza, Cleveland, Ohio - April 30 - May 2, 2010
I traveled to this tournament to play with my good friends, Gary and Jaime Mawson.
I knew this was going to be worth the long flight as I have always enjoyed the Extravaganza from my Southern Ontario days. After Gary picking me up from the airport Friday morning, we headed to his place where we spent the afternoon practicing.
Later that night, we headed out for the start of the weekend tournament. First event was Killer Cleveland singles where you have to beat the score that was previously shot in front of you until you have no marks left. My first group was a monster but I was fortunate enough to make it through. My second group was also no easy task but once again I was able to push through. I later found myself in the finals where I was able to win and take down the first event of the weekend - good start! Next up was the 301 Pro Singles where I had a good run going but eventually went out to Dave Switzer in the semi finals. Saturday morning Gary, Jaime and I lost in the top 8 of the mixed triples. Gary and I followed that up by going to the semi finals losing a hard fought match in the Cricket Doubles. In the Cricket Singles I lost to a young up and coming player who will be someone to look for in the future. Sunday didn't go as well even though I felt great all day. Some disappointments but that is expected in this game.
