Las Vegas Open - January 27 - 29, 2012

Still one of my favorite tournaments in North America!

No ADO Cricket National Championship play for me this year as I was unable to make our qualifier.  I decided to come in late Friday and passed on the blind draw so I could be well rested for Saturday and Sunday.

First event of the LVO for me was Cricket Doubles where I was playing with the newly crowned 2012 Cricket National Champion, Darin “Big Daddy” Young.  This was Darin’s 4th National Title, which now ties him with me for most all time - congrats buddy! We ended up losing in the top 8 to DartsLive Stage winners and good friends, Dave Fatum and Ray Carver in the third leg.

In the 501 Doubles we lost in the top 8 to Steve Brown and Dan Zimmerman.

In the mixed triples I played with Darin Young and Stacy Bromberg where we took out some good teams along the way before ending our run in the top 8.  For the mixed doubles I played with good friend, Gretel Flores, who shot great!  Unfortunately we lost in the top 16 against Todd Baumgartner and Susan Kovach.

In the 501 Singles, I had to go through two of Japan’s best players (Muramatsu and Hashimoto), Pat Hewitt and Chris Helms which was not the easiest of draws.  I ended up losing in the top 8 to fellow West Coast player, Howard Meyers who went on and won the event – congrats!   Cricket didn’t go much different as I lost in the top 8 to Jim Widmayer who also went on and won – congrats!

Overall I was happy with my game and the results given this tournament is one of the toughest of the year!  Thank you to all involved who made this a great run tournament again this year!
